Setting up Digital Signage to have Sound

Post by mjstrand »

Getting Digital Signage Video to Play Sound

To play sound with your videos, it is simply a matter of cabling the computer to the tv screen properly. You also have the option of adding background music to the signage as well by going to the your account / preferences / background music menu area.

If Not Hearing Audio on your Digital Signage

If you are not hearing the sound, then there are a couple possible issues. Although it talks about having an ipod or other input device as background music, the cabling portions of this document will be helpful to you.

  • 1) the volume level is set too low on the pc. Adjust the volume level by clicking on the little speaker icon in the lower right side of the screen.
    2) The volume of the TV is too low. Use your remote control or on-screen volume controls to increase the volume.
3)The speaker out of the computer (usually green in color) is not connected to the input of your tv. If you are using a VGA or DVI video connector, also connect a 1/8" to 1/8" cable between the computer's speaker out and the computer audio input of the screen.
If you are using a video extender, be sure that it has the ability to transmit sound as well as the video signal. If you have our pc-2-tv.net product, it comes with all the cables that you need to do video and audio.
